For ten years I have sewn beautiful bespoke patchwork quilts with Patchwork Castle, and for the final five years been a partner with Chris.
Some clothes are more than just fabric. They can tell stories of special times, places or people; our tiny baby, growing children, holidays, university days, lost loved ones. Our task was to transform these clothes into beautiful Memory Quilts or Keepsake Cushions capturing these most precious memories in a lasting keepsake.
We’ve been privileged to create special keepsakes for some who have lost loved ones, as well as gorgeous keepsakes from cute baby clothes, including some lovely quilts for Alice and Gracie, gorgeous twins of Ronnie and Sally Wood which were featured by Hello magazine.
We don’t often get to hear about the impact our work can have, and were particularly moved by Julia Kirby’s story when we were mentioned in a podcast from The Declutter Hub about ‘making space to grieve’.
All of these professional technical skills are brought to my sewing classes. From tips to get that professional finish to systems that make sewing more efficient! Hopefully you will find more than a warm welcome when you come to a class!
